OpenRoads: Densification of Linear Templates

When running Linear Templates in OpenRoads, you have probably noticed that there is no Template Drop Interval like there is in a regular corridor. Where does it get the interval to use? From the Stroking Definition settings in the Properties of the feature used as the base of the Linear Template.

These settings may be changed before or after using the Linear Template command. If you find yourself needing to consistently use different values, you can change the default settings in your configuration variables. Select File > Settings > Configuration > Configuration Variables. Search ‘stroking’ and Edit the Expansion value. The Curve (Horizontal) and Profile (Vertical) values are also used as the defaults for a regular corridor. The Linear value is not used for a regular corridor, but is used for Linear Templates. All the values are used for features added to Terrains (affecting the triangulation density).

Changes here are stored as User Preferences so going forward they will be the defaults for newly created features in any file you are using under this login. Any features previously created will retain their original settings.
